Houston Battle- 2024 Catfish Farmer of the Year

Houston Battle has been honored as Mississippi's Catfish Farmer of the Year for 2024. As a part-owner of Battle Fish Farm and the Pride of the Pond processing plant in Tunica, Mississippi, Houston collaborates closely with his father, Bill, and brother, Cooper, in the family business. His analytical skills have driven key renovations on the farm to optimize operations.

Houston earned a degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. In 2019, he married his wife, Hannah, in Snowmass, Colorado. He currently serves on the Catfish Farmers of America board and participates in the Young Farmers Leadership Program.

The Catfish Farmer of the Year award is presented annually by The Catfish Institute to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish industry. Recipients are featured in various advertising campaigns to promote U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish and raise public awareness of its quality and benefits.
